Still using "Alt + 0169" for the § symbol?
Finally A Keyboard Designed Specifically For Lawyers
The LegalBoard is a keyboard that includes functions lawyers use every single day. With the press of a single key you can now add a legal section symbol, paragraph sign or copyright symbol.
In fact there are more than 35 commonly used legal features on the LegalBoard - all available with a single keystroke.

Who is this for?
If you’re a legal professional - lawyer, paralegal, assistant or law student - the LegalBoard is for you. In fact it’s the first and only keyboard designed by lawyers for lawyers.
Why do I need it?
For decades legal professionals have been forced to work on a standard keyboard designed for accountants in the last century. Common functions and symbols that you use every single day, can either involve a distracting multi-step process or an elaborate set up of hotkeys.
What will it do for me?
With the press of a single key, you can instantly switch into legal mode, to access over 35 functions that lawyers like you use every day. Each legal keystroke used saves at least 1-2 seconds of time based on our conservative estimates. And at an hourly rate of $300 per hour, that translates into saving between 8 and 16 cents every time a legal key is used!
Ultimately the LegalBoard allows you to be more focused and productive, saving you time and your clients money.
HOW IT WORKS
don't take our word for it...
Robert Ambrogi, Above The Law
Never in my 14 years of blogging and more than two decades of covering legal technology have I seen the legal world react to a new product as it did this week to the LegalBoard, a keyboard designed for lawyers.

An easy 'A–.' If only all my briefs were that good!
Brendan Kenney, The Lawyerist
Using the LegalBoard won’t stop lawyers from using two spaces after a period, writing in Times New Roman, or including unnecessary string citations. But it will make legal writing easier for lawyers, at a modest cost. And that’s a good thing.
Still not convinced?
We get it - we like to have a healthy dose of skepticism at Pro-Boards too... so we ran a test (check out the video at 1 minute in).
Watch as Brian types a legal citation with the LegalBoard turned on, and then types the SAME legal citation with the LegalBoard function turned off.
"But I have hotkeys for that..."
Yep, we ran that test too. Maybe you’re using ‘alt + s’ for the section symbol or ‘alt + f’ for a footnote….?
Here's the thing, hitting two or three keys is always going to be slower and more distracting than hitting one key. Plus, many of the LegalBoard functions (including the section symbol) also work in email.
Ultimately the LegalBoard will save you time for every key you use - and at a lawyers rate of $300/hour...well, that adds up to a whole lot of money pretty fast.
With the press of a single key, you can instantly switch into legal mode, with keys that allow you to...
WHO ARE WE?
The dorky guy in the suit? That would be Brian H. Potts, Pro-Boards’ founder, himself a partner at the large national law firm Perkins Coie.
The team at Pro-Boards LLC is composed of lawyers and engineers. Like you, the Pro-Boards’ lawyers have spent long days and nights writing briefs for clients. And, maybe also like you, we’ve wished for a keyboard that could keep up with the speed of our thinking. We grew tired of having to look for the section symbol and of having to type the same words over and over. So, we brought some legal minds together – and teamed up with our engineer friends – and the LegalBoard was born.
